The Apricot symbolises Armenia and has been cultivated there since ancient times. So it is to no surprise, that its scientific name is Prunus armeniaca(Armenian plum). Our preserves are produced with Shalakh apricots, which is a rare variety growing exclusively in the Ararat Valley nearby to Yerevan and was included into the list of Slow Food’s Ark of Taste.
